Episode 20: "Time to Build", but not in Ptbo with Michelle Ferreri

Its quite simple. PM Carney, if elected, is aspiring to fundamental changes to how our economy functions. His focus is in-house - our country.  It's also quite simple that with the predicted Liberal majority, where all polls show this as stable, taxpayer money will flow. It doesn't matter whether you agree with federal spending or not, it will happen. They've implemented a model that by-passes the Province and flows directly to Municipalities. Does our Riding want that money or do we not? For those of you who's vote is undecided, or for those who are firmly planting their vote with the NDP or Greens thus risking re-electing Michelle Ferreri, here's what we can expect with a Conservative MP, a funding drought: We've seen it with Ferreri's refusal to support the Housing Accelerator Fund. We've seen it with her inability to work across the aisle, advocating for us. We've seen it with her bullying of those who disagree with her. We've seen it with he...

Episode 19: Final Cost to Taxpayers? $2.2 million

We have tracked Peterborough MP Michelle Ferreri's spending and salary costs since her election in 2021. This will be our final update before the election on April 28.   As you look at the numbers below, you can find detailed documenting of her 2021-2024 salary and expenses claims here  in a post from mid-December. You can source the original data via the House of Commons Proactive Disclosure website. You can search by Member and Quarter, as well as look at details regarding each expense Michelle submitted, listed in Travel, Hospitality and Contracts. The House of Commons recently released the last Quarter of expense claims, ending December 30, 2024. I don't expect another update prior to the election, so I have estimated January 2025-April 28, 2025 based on her Quarterly averages. Its astonishing really, watching her spending grow and grow and grow over the last 4 years. Of particular note is the first and last bars in this graph. They cover the same number of months, y...

Episode 18: Votes No To Bills That Can Make A Difference. I'm Speaking Up.

Guest article written and researched by Peterborough Constituent Jessica C: This post took this Constituent hours and hours and hours of research and documentation. At the end of this post, you will find sample screenshots validating these votes and statements by Peterborough MP Michelle Ferreri, as found in the official Parliamentary record, Hansard. Losing Respect for Someone Is a Fickle Thing I used to respect Michelle Ferreri. In fact, I even looked up to her.  I remember seeing her for the very first time at an event in Peterborough years ago where she was the keynote. "She's been a woman in the media industry for over a decade",  I remember thinking.  "Wow. That’s impressive." She was one of the people who inspired me to be myself - and to speak up for things I care about. But my respect for her? I've lost it over time.  I want to be clear: this isn’t an episode of  Mean Girls . And I’m definitely no Lindsay Lohan. But Here's Why Speaking Up Is Imp...
